Needs way less/smaller ads

The ads now autoplay audio even when the phone is silent and they have taken away my beautiful quick queue button. They’ve also brought ‘tumblr tv’ in again. I miss when this site was good :(

New update won’t allow me to post half the time. Nothing happens when trying to make a new post. And even when I do manage to get something, it gets lost when I try to save it to drafts. :/ it’s more than frustrating.

Tumblr is amazing! I’ve had one for over 14 years. I wish they removed the sensitive settings, but it’s a great app for self expression.

sick of dead spaces ran by ads and algorithm focused bots? firm believer in the dead internet theory? tumblr is a spot without an algorithm. this has the benefits of this as well as the downsides so it may take adjustment but i always come back to the community here.

Update is really ugly. I was hoping it was an April fools prank because the circle pfp and insanely small notes button compared to the icons throws off the entire post.

What the tin says basically, can’t edit my tags on a post I reblogged and it’s annoying.

I patrolling the AppStore per usual, however I stumbled upon the most intricate and creative platform, tumblr. I have discorded many fetishes and fandoms I want to explore. However this much yaoi can be to powerful for a human may I said handsome man as of myself. Dare I say this could be the powers of a higher elite controlling my destiny. I have gooned to so much yaoi it has turned purple, bruised, a bumpy with lumps. I physically cannot stand this torture and may have to cut back on my yiph (yaoi intake per hour). This is causing hardships on my family. Anywho back to my story. I was perusing the tumblr feed and discorved yaoi. At first I wanted to learn more but as it got more hot I couldn’t take it. After my mother walked in, she couldn’t handle the sight her of her som doing such a thing and kicked me out. Sigh, another cog in the plan of me, my yaoi, and my current living situation. Anywhos toodles and back to my tumblr.

Weird angsty corner of the internet. I feel safe. It feels like self-expression is valued over perfection. So many different types of art. <3 love you forever tumblr

Can’t functionally reblog because the button magically disappears every time I try to touch it, but don’t worry, there’s still enough functionality to have your scrolling interrupted by the AppStore popping up when you never even touched the ad for the thing it wants you to download.

That's a phrase in programming and QA testing where devs change stuff just to change stuff. Example: Tumblr staff have changed the like/reblog/comment buttons but have COMPLETELY REMOVED the Queue Post Icons. What was a single step before is now 2-3 steps again. WHY?!?

Is the app objectively good? Probably not. Is it fun? 100%. Beware of the porn bots though… They are everywhere in the communities.

Love the community’s and it’s a cute app

I have been using this for a little under a year and personally think it’s the best social media. I have a few of my own issues with it that are just personal preference but I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get into fandoms or nerdy stuff and interact with fellow fans.

put the fast queue button back and maybe fix that bug that causes the app to place you in a random place on your dash instead of getting rid of perfectly serviceable functions. i know theres like 25 people on the team due to the sheet ineptitude of your management but like. seriously

Tumblr is a great app for photo sharing I just wish they weren’t so restrictive on what some people call porn

I can deal with all the other bugs just please put the queue button back on the dashboard. It’s impossible to use the app like this having to push 10 buttons just to queue one post.

Why did you make these horrid changes?!? Once again pushing something users couldn’t care less about and moving the edit and delete options under the … They are NOT what any user would want. What they want are edit/delete buttons up front which are used regularly. The community and tv things can go hide in the … area. Stop fixing what ain’t broken!!!

I really like the app because you can block the politics easy and there’s more personal blogs that are inspiring and positive. It’s also easy to make a nice design for yourself..

This app always had some bugs, but with recent updates (as of April 2025), the app is now prone to resetting if you background it for any reason or even completely locking! Not a good user experience. Also still not well optimized. App will begin to slow down and heat up your phone if you're scrolling through posts for too long.

I generally like Tumblr but they can make poor development choices. There is a queueing function where you can schedule posts, which is really useful to post consistently. They have REMOVED my quickly accessible queue reblog button in the latest update and it is severely discouraging my use of the app

Tumblr app is a great platform for sharing and reading about technology the and decorating and just about everything else. The platform has an amazing content of categories of interests or hobbies. It also attracts some top talent!
